Say hello! To mango. It was a perfect day to celebrate the season with the king of fruits “MANGO” at GD Goenka Public School Gorakhpur on 27th July, 2018. It was a sweet and juicy morning for the tiny tots. The students of pre-primary wing delightfully entered the school premises dressed in yellow. Our kids bloomed like flowers. They also wore the beautiful cut-outs of mangoes around their necks. The celebration was a measure to introduce the colour concept of yellow colour and introduction to the king of fruits.
There was a special assembly conducted on the occasion of Mango Fiesta, where children swayed with joy on the beats of melodies related to mango.
The day started with the warm welcome of the guest of honour, The Principal, Mr Pradeep Kumar Pandey and a general conversation about mango, followed by rhymes, dance and singing session which the kids enjoyed thoroughly. Teachers briefed the students about its being the king of fruits not only for its taste and freshly yellow colour but also for the nutrients it offers. They were also told about the various form of its consumption.
The little Goenkans enjoyed the mango shake which they relished after their meals. Various activities were planned for the day such as tear and paste on mango cut-outs, worksheets based on mango, mango delights, mango crown etc.
The presence of the principal of our school adorned the event. He guided us with his inspirational words and inspired us to do better. He also applauded the efforts of the students. We would like to thank him for all his support and making our organisation shine and allowing us to be at our best.
The sole purpose of the entire event was to see our little Goenkans budding and blooming with happiness and excitement. And also to make them aware of the qualities of mango and yellow colour.

“Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.”
Grandparents are our heritage and are essential members of our families and communities. That is why a special day, Grandparents day was celebrated on Oct 21, 2016.
They were welcomed in a traditional way by putting tika and smiley badges. A heart warming program was thrown by our pre-primary section. They presented songs, rhymes, dances and skit to show the importance of grandparents.
At last grandparents were involved in some games.
It was a great day in which love and affection of the Goenkans for their grandparents was flowing in the air.
